Afloat

Art & Water envisions the creation of a destination cultural space & marketplace on Toronto’s Waterfront, at Portland, Yonge & Parliament Slips. Think Stackt Market Meet’s Rendez Views on the water. All year round.

Afloat will host Dockside - art & waters cultural festival with music, dance & visual art. Afloat will also be home to a new winter community space - Dockside Sauna - a community gatering and sweat bath.

Comprised of publicly accessible dockside space, artisan studios, independent micro-retailers, cultural & community programming.

Top Left Dockside Performance venue, this covered stage protects artists invites audiences down onto the dock to enjoy the free stumble upon arts & cultural events.

Left: Artist Studios double as creative & retail spaces. Artists are being pushed out of our city one condo development at a time. Creative spaces are further from the centre, more expensive and smaller and smaller. Our project creates year round floating artists studies with direct access to audiences & consumers.

Art & Water’s dockside project encourages a mixed used waterfront venue including water taxi services between city side Arts & Cultrual hubs at Portland, Yonge and Parliament Slips as well as storage of non power vessels (Canoes, Kayaks, SUP and whichever the next creation will be)

Imagine a dockside floating public realm on the waterfront, accessible to all, ripe with cultural programming, creating community one passerby at a time.
