Call For Producer

Art & Water is seeking one producer to lead the delivery of our 2022 Dockside Concert Series running May Long weekend to September Long weekend, 16 weeks of concerts & events.

For over 10 years Art & Water has welcomed and cultivated space for art and artists in Toronto & Ottawa, presenting a children’s theatre, dockside concert series floating art gallery and providing free and subsidized space for artists.

Art & Water’s dockside event series occurs 3 nights a week, from 6-9pm at two waterfront locations, Monday to Wednesday at 585 Queen’s Quay West and Friday to Sunday at 1 Queen’s Quay East. 

Expected working hours as follows:

April 10 hrs/ week
May 15 hrs / week
June 15 hrs / weekJuly 15 Hrs / week
August 15 hrs / week
September 15 hrs / week

Total hours 340

Wage $25 / hr $8500

Compensation  

Producer Fee: $8 500 ($25/hr)

Start Dates:  April 1st - September 5th

Role Responsibilities

  • Management and execution of Art & Water’s Dockside Series.

  • Coordinating and facilitating the work of the design and production teams

  • Managing, and reconciling production budgets

  • Revenue development of funds for production budget

  • Develop and execute a marketing and publicity strategy for the production

  • Writing and submitting final reports

  • Producing the call for submissions screening of the artists in associating with other team members, reviewing submissions, selecting artists and curating the event series.

  • Attending all events,

  • Leading, organizing and coordinating the volunteer team, including placing a call for volunteers.

  • Developing an audience outreach/connection strategy to engage audiences at the events, collecting details and inviting them to contribute/donate to the program. Teaching and developing the volunteer team to facilitate this work

 

The ideal Candidate possesses

  • Experience of 3+ years as a performance producer/arts administrator or similar type work

  • High degree of motivation and professionalism

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and work productively with artists, staff, and volunteers

  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a wide variety of organizational stakeholders

  • Proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
